Happy Earth Day

The first Earth Day involved 20 million Americans in peaceful demonstrations urging environmental reform. By 1990, it had grown to 200 million people in 141 countries. People everywhere organized massive recycling projects.

Something I think is exciting is that some countries (Ecuador, Bolivia) actually have given the environment legal rights. In New Zealand the Whanganui River enjoys status as a person with standing.  Slowly we make progress.

  1. Thanks for the recent visit to my Western genre site….much appreciated. You have some very interesting content on your own site here….and it is strange that corporations get an array of rights but the environment and a place cannot do so easily. Happy Earth Day!

    1. And such a gorgeous day on planet earth … gentle morning sunlight and I am listening to a chorus of mockingbirds as I type this. Happy Earth Day.
